Equal parts workhorse and abstract creative tool, Circa is a six track multi-layer looping environment that can do most of the things your popular floor pedal looper can while also paying homage to the serendipitous world of ambient looping.

Each layer can sync to the host, a master loop, or free run, and can be triggered in sync, with an audio signal, or freely. Circa has seven stereo outputs (including a dedicated cue output for monitoring) and built-in reverb and delay. Add in a complete MIDI control and LFO modulation system and Circa is a full looping workstation.

Features

• Six looping layers - Circa has six layers that can operate independently or in sync with each other and/or the host. Circa can record from the stereo input, or self-record via an internal buss for interesting feedback possibilities.
• Designed to be touched and played - Circa's user interface is made for tactile manipulation, with touch strips for speed and position (including dedicated pages). All this works together to turn a looping effect into a playable instrument.
• Slices and hold slice - Subdivide the position strip into slices, or tap 0, 4, 8 or 16 to set the count in one go. Jump between slices from MIDI or an LFO, or hold a slice to loop it until you let go.
• Clean varispeed - Raised speeds without aliasing, lowered speeds smoothly band-limited, and no zipper noise sweeping the speed through normal. Recording at raised or lowered speeds gets the same treatment.
• 30 modulation slots - Each slot maps a MIDI controller to virtually any of Circa's looping features, or runs an LFO. Filter frequency, resonance and type are all targets, alongside speed, position, levels and sends.
• LFOs - Seven shapes (triangle, square, sine, saw, ramp, random and random walk), free-running or tempo-synced, with rate, phase and level. LFOs modulate speed, start and end position, level, panning, delay and reverb sends, filter frequency and resonance, or jump the play head between slices, swinging around wherever each control is set.
• Gesture Recorders - Use the six Gesture Recorders on the modulations panel to record and loop or play back the UI controls. Virtually every control in the UI can be looped. This introduces a whole new world of creative audio manipulation.
• monome grid and monome arc integration - Circa is the first commercial plugin to have full monome integration. Control most features of the plugin via grid and arc without even looking at your computer screen.
• Undo on every layer - Each layer has an undo for destructive edits like recording, overdubbing, and erasing. Save a preset or session in the middle of a take, and everything recorded so far is kept while you carry on recording.
• Self-contained - A full internal mixer, filtering on each layer, and studio-quality send reverb, send delay, parametric EQ and compressor taken directly from Audio Damage's extensive effect library.
• Seven outputs - Six assignable stereo outputs and a cue output for monitoring. Send any layer to any of the six stereo outputs, while keeping the cue for soloing, recording, and editing, unheard by the audience.
• Drag and drop - Drag audio between layers, or drag a layer out to your DAW or desktop.
• Cross-platform presets - Circa's user presets work on any instance of Circa, whether on macOS, Windows, Linux, or iOS.
• Tooltips - Product-wide tooltips make learning as easy as hovering. (Not available on iOS.)
• Standalone on iPad - On iPad, Circa also runs as a standalone app with its own audio and MIDI settings: choose the interface, sample rate and buffer size, pick the input pair, send each of the seven outputs to any output pair on your interface, select a MIDI input, and sync to incoming MIDI clock.
