A FAITHFUL MODEL OF A LEGEND.

PhaseThree is a detailed model of the MuTron Bi-Phase — one of the most coveted phaser units ever made, used on classic recordings across funk, jazz, progressive rock, and electronic music. We tracked down the best-sounding Bi-Phase we could find, paid a faintly ridiculous price for it, took it apart, and built a painstaking digital copy down to the unique sweep of its LFOs and the characteristic response of its vactrols.

With the latest version, we have also added a 12-stage option for each of the two phasor channels (in addition to the original 6-stage), and we have tamed some of the original’s more extreme behaviors that were somewhat lacking to the modern palette.

FEATURES

Perfect Bi-Phase Model. Both channels of the original unit modeled in full, down to the vactrol response and LFO sweep character that defines the Bi-Phase sound.

Expression Pedal Modeled. The famously unobtanium Bi-Phase expression pedal is modeled as a separate parameter, fully assignable to any modulation source.

12-Stage Option. Each channel offers a 12-stage phasor in addition to the original 6-stage, significantly expanding the tonal range from subtle movement to deep, complex sweeps.

Cross-Platform Presets. XML-based preset manager with copy and paste. Move presets between the iOS version and the desktop version with Handoff.

Resizable GUI. Entirely vector-based, high-resolution user interface that scales cleanly on any display.
